St. Catharines residents fail to bring home a Grammy

For possibly the first time in history, St. Catharines had multiple hometown legends nominated at once for music's most coveted prize, the Grammy.

Polka legend Walter Ostenak, nominated for his 22nd time, failed to bring home the gold for his album Back to Back Hall of Fame Polkas. St. Catharines native and Rush drummer Neal Peart was nominated as well, along with his bandmates, for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.

While neither was able to bring home the award this year, Ostenak has won three Grammy's in the past and has a long and storied career he can be proud of. Rush on the other hand is one of the most influential bands in rock history, and for some reason has won zero Grammy's to date. It's a travesty. This is what lifetime achievement awards are for, people!
