St. Catharines beaches are cleaner in 2008

stcbeach.jpg

Great news from the annual TD Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup this past weekend! St. Catharines shoreline cleanup required 50 bags total -- that's both garbage and recycling -- compared to last year's hefty numbers. In 2007 51 bags of trash were collected alone. That's 51 bags before recycling.

Green living has really become a way of life for most people and seeing such a drastic reduction in beach trash is a great indicator of that. I'm looking forward to seeing next years numbers to see how far we've really come. I'm going to say 32 bags combined. Anybody else want to make a guess for 2009?
