"Satisfaction Guaranteed" closes today at the St. Catharines Museum

eatonscat.jpgIf you haven't had a chance to check it out yet, you may want to get to the St. Catharines Museum this afternoon and check out their big summer exhibit "Satisfaction Guaranteed: The Mail Order Catalogue in Canada." The collection features more than 100 pieces that showcase the golden age of the mail order catalogue.

It may be hard for people of this generation or even the generation before us to relate, but the mail order catalogue was an essential staple to Canadian survival in the first half of the 20th century. Living out in the middle of nowhere the only way many Canadians could get their hands on a number of goods was to order them out of the Timothy Eaton catalogue.

The exhibit features both catalogues and a number of items featured in them. Admission to the Museum is $4.25 for adults and $2.50 for children 13 & under. They're open from 9am to 5pm daily -- so if you're going to make it to the exhibit on it's last day, I'd get in the car now!
