Rainbow Bridge temporarily closed to pedestrians for most of September

The Niagara Falls Review is posting notice that the Rainbow Bridge will be closed to foot traffic from September 8th thru the 12th and September 15th thru the 19th. Not too sure on the reasons why, but I think it would be safe to speculate that some construction may be occurring at that time.

Structural improvements have often been the reason for bridge issues in the past, however they've usually worked on one side at a time so that pedestrians could walk along the other. If you're a foot-friendly chap who needs to get across the border this month, I'd start looking for other arrangements now as the Rainbow is the only bridge in Niagara that still offers a pedestrian crossing.
