Only in Niagara: The Red Telephone Booth of Effingham

redbooth.jpg

You're going for a nice Sunday drive in the country. The ups and downs and twists and turns of the road you're on in Ridgeville is enough to make you quesy. Then suddenly out of the left hand window, you see the most peculiar thing: an old British telephone booth out seemingly abandoned by the side of the road.

Nobody we've spoken to knows quite why it's there, though the most frequent guess we hear is that it may have held a telephone that let you call ahead to the residents of Bedside Manor, the property it sits in front of. No telephone exists in there now, and the windows have all been smashed out from the weathering of years.

Still - a peculiar oddity, and one you'd only find in Niagara. If you want a closer look, Bedside Manor is located at 1983 Effingham St. in Ridgeville.
