Merritton Carnival kicks off tonight

Every part of the city has their time of year to shine. For Port Dalhousie, it's Canada Day. For Downtown, it's Grape & Wine. And Merritton? Merritton's all about the working man.

The annual Merritton Labour Day carnival kicks off tonight at 5pm and runs until 9pm on Monday. Admission is free, but like any good carnival the rides are going to set you back at bit. The event will taking place in the same spot it does every year -- at the Merritton Lion's Club on Park Ave.

The Lion's will also be hosting their Community Days Event concurrently with the carnival. There's a Beef on a Bun dance on Friday at 8pm, a Poker Run Sunday at 11am, a Beer Garden on Monday at noon, and Lioness Bingo from 1pm till 9pm on Monday.

It's an awful lot of party to cram into one weekend! Have fun, Merritton!
