Learning about local and organic foods

organicfoods.jpg

In these days of greener living, few would argue against the benefits of local and organic foods. While organics reduce the need for pesticides and other toxins harmful for the environment, local food reduces the damage done by long-distance shipping methods and encourages the growth of local jobs.

Buying local and organic food though isn't necessarily as easy as it sounds. Where can you go to find these products, and what can you do to find out if they're as beneficial to the environment as they claim?

Healthy living enthusiast and owner of St. Catharines' own Pan Cafe Alexandra Hlinyanszky has put out an open invitation to those wanting to learn more about locals and organics to join her in a free discussion at the St. Catharines Public Library. The event will be held on September 18th at 7:30pm.
