GO! Trains officially coming to Niagara!

It's been years in the making, but the first steps towards including the St. Catharines-Niagara Region into the GO! Transit system will be taking place this summer.

GO! Tourism will ride the rails from Toronto making stops in both St. Catharines and Niagara Falls beginning early summer. The trains will run four times a day, with a one way ticket from Niagara Falls to Toronto running only $15.90. That's even cheaper than traveling via Coach Canada! Plus there'll be no traffic to slow you down like on a coach bus. Definitely an exciting time for the Niagara region.

Of course this is really just a pilot project meant to gauge the viability of bringing long-term GO! service to the area. And while we'll have to count on tourists to make up a good portion of the ridership, we have the ability to contribute to ticket sales heading the other way!

Trains will be leaving four times daily on weekends and holidays starting in late June. It's cheaper than a bus. It's cheaper than VIA. It's even cheaper than gas and parking. Next time you're thinking of heading to Toronto, hop on the GO!
