FlickrNiagara: The last minutes of McDonald's Hartzel

A few months back McBoyCo, owners of most Niagara McDonald's locations, made a difficult decision. Should they invest the millions required to completely update and renovate the aging Hartzel Rd location, or abandon the site and focus its energies on stores where the cost/benefit of updating makes better sense?

And so with a heavy heart, the Hartzel Rd. McDonald's that had stood for more than 30 years (and was my McDonald's growing up) served up it's last hot order of fries a few months back.

Normally on FlickrNiagara we try to showcase the work of a fantastic Flickr photographer, but this time I grabbed a snapshot from my own personal Flickr photos. It's not often you see the final moments and dismantling of a building, and it's even rarer that the building somehow comes across as feeling sad. But I'd like to think this picture captures both.
