Flickr Niagara: I miss Mother's

oldmothers.jpg

I can't say for certain what this building's original purpose was, but it appears as though it was a factory of some sort when it was first built. Whatever it's first intended purpose was, most of us here in Niagara will always remember this as Mother's Pizza. Back in the 80's, Mother's was a chain restaurant in Southern Ontario -- and they made some of the best damned pizza you've ever tasted.

For a brief period after Mother's it was a strip club, but for the past few years it's been home to the Heritage Family Restaurant. Flickr user Jeff Epp captured this great shot earlier this summer. I can't speak for everyone, but I know it makes me pine for the days of Mother's.
