Flickr Niagara: Friendship Festival Fireworks

friendshipforterie.jpg

Living in a border town sometimes has it's perks, and in Fort Erie those perks happen in the first five days of July. Every summer from Canada Day through the day after Independence Day, Fort Erie and Buffalo jointly celebrate the Friendship Festival. Music, carnivals, fireworks -- it's a giant party that's about neighbourliness and unity.

Flickr user eastpole captured this shot of fireworks along the Niagara River on Canada Day back in 2005, and it's utterly stunning.
