Empire After Dark presents Blue Velvet

Get ready for a dark and twisted ride later this month, as Empire After Dark will be presenting David Lynch's masterpiece of perversity Blue Velvet on the big screen.

It starts with Kyle Maclachlan finding and ear and ends with Dennis Hopper huffing oxygen while muttering "mommy." It's messed up. But it's also really good. Probably the high point of Lynch's career. If you've never seen it, I can't think of a better time. You can check it out Friday, May 29th, 2009 at midnight for $6.99 at the Empire 8 in the Pen Centre.

On a side note, I was able to make it out to Empire After Dark's presentation of Alien last month and had a fantastic time. No matter how may times you've seen a film the experience is completely different on the big screen. If you haven't been to an Empire After Dark presentation yet I can't suggest it strongly enough.
